The Casa Laguna Inn welcomes well behaved, clean and healthy pets traveling with their people. There are a number of restaurants and attractions nearby that are pet-friendly. We list but a few here along with pet sitting and pet care services, Veterinarians, information on the Laguna Beach Dog Park, and the rules for having your pet accompany you to the Casa Laguna, on the beaches and around town.

There is a nominal nightly charge of $25/pet and an additional registration form guests must complete when they arrive. That form appears below. If traveling with pets, please indicate the number, type and names of your pets when making your reservation.

 

Pet Friendly Restaurants

There are many fine restaurants in Laguna Beach at which pets are welcome. Essentially all restaurants with outdoor patios accommodate pets joining their people while they dine. A few favorites of the Casa Laguna Innkeepers are listed here. It will be our pleasure to assist you with reservations. A portfolio of menus is available in the Mission House Library.

Cedar Creek Inn - 384 Forest Ave, 949.497.8696, www.cedarcreekinn.com. A local favorite and a center of Laguna Beach happenings. Located across from City Hall, a lot of city business is conducted here. Pets on leashes are welcome on the outside patio while their people dine. Lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch are served.

The Cottage - 308 N Coast Highway, 949.494.3023, www.thecottagerestaurant.com. A landmark in Laguna Beach, this restaurant serves homestyle California cuisine. The garden patio offers people and their pets a comfortable setting in which to enjoy a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Gina's Pizza - 1100 S Coast Highway, 949.494.4342, www.ginaspizza.com. "The best pizza at the beach" according to the OC Register, Gina's offers outside seating for customers and their pets.

Madison Square & Garden Café - 320 N Coast Highway, 949.494.0137, www.madisonsquare.com. The "Pet Friendliest!" Owner Jon Madison makes a special point of greeting all pets and the people they are with. Terrific food in a beautiful garden setting right in the heart of North Laguna's Gallery Row. Breakfast and Lunch until 3pm. Closed on Tuesdays November through May.

The Sundried Tomato Café - 361 Forest Ave, 949.494.3312, www.thesundriedtomatocafe.com. This restaurant features one of the best patios for people watching in town. Leashed pets are welcome on the patio and their people will enjoy creative California cuisine, fantastic salads and a terrific wine bar. Open daily for lunch and dinner. Reservations highly recommended as waits for a patio table can be very long.

Taco Loco - 640 S Coast Highway, 949.497.1635, A casual, sidewalk café featuring seafood and traditional versions of southwestern and Mexican dishes. Lunch and dinner served until midnight.

Zinc Café & Market - 350 Ocean Ave, 949.494.6302, www.zinccafe.com. A popular gathering spot for locals and well known for its vegetarian menu that satisfies the most carnivorous appetites. Leashed pets and their people will find many friends on the congenial and very social patio. Breakfast and lunch are served daily. Diner is served Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Laguna Beach Dog Park

A park just for dogs and the people who accompany them has been designated in Laguna Beach. It's a great place to get some exercise, socialize and share the latest news from around town and around the world.

Laguna Canyon Road just west of El Toro Road.

DOG PARK RULES

  • You must pick up after your dog in and out of fenced area.
  • Dogs must be leashed entering and exiting the park.
  • Dogs must be currently licensed.
  • Aggressive dogs must be removed from the park immediately.
  • Professional dog training is not permitted.
  • Spike or pinched collars are not permitted.
  • Sports activities, bicycles, picnics, etc. are not permitted.
  • Take any balls or other toys when you leave.
  • You are responsible for you dog's conduct.
  • If your dog is causing a problem, please leave.
  • Dogs must not be left at the park unattended.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The dog park is open daily dawn to dusk from Thursday to Tuesday.

The park is closed all day Wednesday for maintenance.

The park is also closed during and after rain

Below are the Casa Laguna Additional Terms and Conditions for Guests with Pets. If traveling with pets, you will be asked to sign a copy of this agreement when you check-in.

 

Additional Terms and Conditions for Guests with Pets

The undersigned, a guest at the Casa Laguna Inn, agrees to the following conditions for having a pet on the premises of the Casa Laguna Inn:

  • I will keep my pet on a leash or carry my pet in my arms or in a cage or in a secure carrier at all times while my pet is on any part of the premises.
  • I will not relieve my pet on the premises of the Casa Laguna Inn. When relieving my pets, I will immediately remove all evidence of that relief from the premises of the Casa Laguna Inn or any other property on which my pet has been relieved during my stay.
  • I understand that my pet is not allowed in the dining room or pool area.
  • I will not leave my pet unattended, even in my room, at any time. If I do not respect this policy, I agree to pay a $100.00 per occurrence penalty. I further understand that I could be asked to leave the hotel. If I am asked to leave the hotel, I understand I will still be responsible for the remainder of my intended stay.
  • I agree to be responsible for any and all damage done by my pet. I further agree to allow my credit card on file to be charged for any and all damage done by my pet.
  • I hereby attest that my pet is not attack trained and has never, to my knowledge, injured anyone or threatened to injure anyone.
  • I agree to be liable for any injury to anyone or to any other animal caused by my pet while on these premises.
  • I understand that if my pet causes a disturbance and is asked to leave, or if I refuse to follow this agreement, I will be charged for the length of my intended stay and there will be no refund.

 

Here is a short summary of laws that pertain to having pets on the beaches and other public places in town. For full information on the municipal pet laws in Laguna Beach, check the city's municipal codes website.

Dogs, accompanied by at least one person and tethered to that person by a leash not to exceed six feet in length are allowed on all public beaches in Laguna Beach except between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. from June 1st to September 16th.

In addition, no unattended animal may be tethered to any shrub or tree growing along any public sidewalk or street or in any park or on any beach of the city, or tied to any public poles, parking meters, fences, or benches.
