About Our Chef
Casa Laguna's Chef de Cuisine, Michell Bretall, is a classically trained professional chef, and chef-partner in The Basement Table, a “common table” enterprise specializing in exclusive gourmet dinners for small groups at the Laguna Culinary Arts Café. She came to Casa Laguna as Sous Chef in January 2012, and moved into the Executive Chef position in February 2012. Chef Bretall has traveled extensively, honing her craft during visits to Italy and France--and most recently Spain. Through her dedication to ingredient-driven menus, Chef Bretall has been a supporter of organic & local farmers for nearly 20 years.
