PGA Tour's Toshiba Classic This Weekend in Newport Beach

The $1.7 million Toshiba Classic gets underway Friday, March 11, just up the road from Casa Laguna at the Newport Beach Country Club (11.3 miles, 20-30 min. drive). This is Southern California’s only stop on golf’s PGA Champions Tour and features major champions, like last year’s winner, Fred Couples, and World Golf Hall of Famers, like 2009 inductee Lanny Wadkins. This year’s winner gets $255,000 of the $1.7 million purse.

The primary beneficiary of this year’s tournament is the Mary and Dick Allen Diabetes Center at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. Thanks to funds raised by Toshiba Classic sponsors, Hoag Hospital has been able to move forward with important projects such as Hoag Hospital Irvine an acute care general hospital with emergency services that opened in 2010.

Tournament Gates open at 8:00 AM on Friday and the first tee-off is at 10:15. One day, general admission tickets are $25 each day at the front gate. Contact the Tournament Office at (949) 660-1001 to check on availability of Patron and Daily tickets with Clubhouse Access.
